Thyroarytenoid Dominant Production is characterized by short, thick vocal folds. This style of singing, also referred to as Chest Voice or Mode 1, has a greater amplitude of the harmonic series creating a richer, more robust tone. TA dominant vocal production is the primary singing technique for male singers in most musical styles and has grown in popularity with female singers over the past several decades outside of Western classical singing.
