Term Category: Technology

The Sampling Rate is the number of samples captured per second by a piece of equipment. Standard sampling rates are 44.1kHz, 48kHz, and 96kHz. An increased sampling rate allows for higher frequencies to be recorded. However, 44.1kHz already contains all of the frequencies average humans can hear and then some.
