Sternocleidomastoids

The sternocleidomastoid muscle is a prominent anatomical structure in the neck. This large muscle is named for its points of attachment to the sternum (sterno-), clavicle (cleido-), and mastoid process of the temporal bone (mastoid). It plays a significant role in head movement and neck stability.
