Self-to-Other Ratio (SOR)

Self to Other Ratio is the ratio of which a singer hears themselves compared to an ensemble or band. Preferences for the optimum ratio vary widely by singer but it is ideal for a singer to hear themselves over the rest of the ensemble. This can be achieved by adjusting spacing of a choir, adjusting monitor mixes, or microphone placements.
