Posterior

“Posterior” refers to the direction or position that is towards the back or rear of a structure. In anatomy, it describes the side of the body or an organ that is situated further from the front or anterior side. For instance, the spine is located on the posterior side of the body, while in the context of the head, the posterior aspect is the back of the head.
