Out-of-Phase

Out of phase refers to a condition where two or more waves or signals are not synchronized or aligned in their peaks and troughs. When waves are out of phase, they are in a state of interference, resulting in cancellation or attenuation of certain frequencies. This phenomenon occurs when the peaks of one wave coincide with the troughs of another. In the context of sound, being out of phase can lead to phase cancellation, altering the overall sound quality and spatial perception.
